Presumably this miniaturist was the son of the director of the Académie Saint-Luc and brother of the painter and pastelist Jean-Baptiste Lefèvre. In the middle of the 18th century he lived at Quai Pelletier in Paris, in the same building in which the stationery shop A la Couronne d' Or was located.
