Louis Bertin Parant (also: Parent)
Parant (also: Parent) Louis Bertin
(Mers 1768 - 1851 Paris)
This multitalented pupil of Jean Leroy painted among other things portraits in miniature and in oils. His cleverly painted cameo imitations with their striking likeness being, however, his speciality. He worked in the porcelain manufactory of Sèvres and produced lithographs as well. Napoleon I, his wife Josephine and Louis XVIII were among his patrons. Between 1800 and 1834 he presented his miniatures at the Paris Salon.
