Frédéric Dubois

Dubois, Frédéric
(worked after 1780-1819)
Little is known about the life of this miniaturist except for some rough biographical data. He not only painted in Paris, where he exhibited portrait miniatures in the Salon de la Correspondance in 1780 and was represented in the Salon between 1795 and 1804, but he worked quite a lot in Russia, too. Presumably Dubois painted at the court of Saint Petersburg between 1804 and 1818. In 1818 he went to London where he exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1818 and 1819.
