Augustin Dubourg


Dubourg (also known as Augustin) called Dubourg
(Saint-Diè-des-Vosges 1758)
Dubourg was a cousin of the better known Jean-Baptiste Jacques Augustin and called himself Augustin Dubourg to differentiate himself from his cousin. His first names are unknown. In 1791 he exhibited his paintings in the Rue de Cléry at the Artistes Libres and in 1793, 1798, 1800 and 1801 at the Salons in Paris. He maybe studied some time at David' s atelier as a Augustin D. who is supposed to have committed suicide in 1804/05 is listed in the students' register of David.
