Engleheart, John Cox Dillman
(Kew 1782/84 - 1862 Tunbridge Wells)
The nephew, pupil and later assistant of George Engleheart descends from a large artists family. In the beginning he copied paintings by his uncle and by other artists. In 1800 he joined the Royal Academy and from about 1807 onwards worked as an independent artist, although at first still completely in his uncle' s style. His works were exhibited at the Royal Academy until 1828.
