Elisabeth Charlotte, Countess of Solms-Wildenfels

Elisabeth Charlotte Countess of Solms-Wildenfels was married to the Saxon civil servant Friedrich Magnus I Count of Solms-Wildenfels. ¹ This portrait was created two years after their marriage. The representation of the Countess in front of a neutral background is meticulously elaborated and unembellished as her bushy eye-brows and large chin are clearly visible. Her warm-hearted and attentive facial expression is framed by a delicate flower-embroidered gossamer bonnet.
