Caroline Le Guay, geborene Courtin
Lady in White Dress
circa 1810
round: 7.50 cm x 0.00 cm
originaler Goldreif, ursprünglich wohl auf einer Dose montiert
Etienne Charles Le Guay married his student Caroline Courtin in 1809 just after he separated from another student of his, Marie-Victoire Jaquotot. Unlike Jaquotot who was well-known for her miniatures on porcelain, Caroline's few works were rather conventional. Her miniatures clearly show the influence of her master and husband who often painted pale and sensitive ladies in tender tull before a wildly romantic wooded landscape in the late 18th century. Caroline Le Guay exhibited her works in the Paris Salon twice, in 1810 and 1812.
