Bernard III. Lens
Lens, Bernard
(1682 London - 1740 London)
This artist was a student at the arts academy in Westminster. He was appointed miniaturist to the two kings George I and George II and worked as an art master for the Duke of Cumberland, the princesses Mary and Louisa and the Duchess of Portland. Lens got inspired by the Venetian Rosalba Carriera and was among the first artists who painted miniatures on ivory in England.
