The Artist

It goes without saying that all the famous and outstanding masters are represented in the collection: from France Augustin, Isabey, Périn, Lemoine, Sicardi and Weiler; from England Cosway, Meyer, Smart and Engleheart; from Scandinavia Hall and Høyerheraus. There are numerous German works and Rosalba Carriera, the most important Italian miniaturist, is also represented.

Additionally, the collection contains an abundance of works by less known miniaturists, thus creating the unique opportunity to get an all-embracing insight in European miniature painting.

However, not only the impressive list of significant artists from different countries and periods, but also the great variety of different motifs - portraits, landscapes, scenic representations and flower still lifes - make the Tansey Collection so unique.
